It’s an achievement we’re all immensely proud of that reflects our continuing commitment to both patients and our NHS partners. From serving our very first patient right up until this moment, our vision has and always will remain the same: to make healthcare more accessible for everyone. Since launching in the UK in 2018, that’s exactly what we’ve been working towards.
The goal has been two-fold. Firstly, to help patients access care where and when they need it and second, to support our partners across the health system to meet increasing demand. That’s why we’re so proud of what our teams have accomplished in such a short period of time. We are doing what we set out to do just four years ago. But we know this is also a continuing journey.
Indeed, the health system faces ongoing, immense challenges. Teams are under huge pressure to deliver better outcomes with limited resource. Urgent, primary and secondary care services continue to see unprecedented patient numbers.
As the UK’s leading digital healthcare provider, we’re here to help the system meet these challenges head-on. Digital healthcare has a foundational part to play in helping the system do more, not only facilitating new ways of working but also providing real, practical solutions to the challenges we face. To serve growing, complex patient populations, we must continue to optimise access, available clinical capacity and efficiency, so patients receive the right care at the right time.
Livi is doing exactly that, providing direct support to the NHS across primary care, integrated care systems, mental health services and urgent care. This support has never been more needed. Since 2020, we’ve witnessed a 600%+ increase in consultations. In our urgent care service alone, this has amounted to a rise of more than 68,000 appointments. Through Livi’s digital services, 85% of patients are seen within two hours of making an appointment.
Our most recently announced partnership with 40 primary care networks will see more than two million additional patients gain extended access to Livi’s CQC Outstanding primary care services. This will bring the total number of patients who can access Livi through the NHS to more than 11 million.
However, all of this wouldn’t matter if not for the real difference we are making in the lives of our patients and partners. We believe this is always best expressed in their own words.
A recent case includes that of a patient for whom a Livi consultation helped to facilitate an early life-saving diagnosis:
“I feel lucky and eternally grateful. Looking back, that Livi doctor quite possibly saved my life.”
While one of our NHS partners remarks, “Livi has made such a difference with the extra appointments. It’s wonderful to be able to offer Livi and receive good feedback from patients after their remote consultation.”
These are just two examples that serve as testament to the quality of care and service we provide. They illustrate why this milestone means so much to us.
This accomplishment simply would not be possible without the tireless dedication of our team and we would like to take this opportunity to thank them for all they do. Finally, we would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our patients and partners. Thank you for allowing us to serve you.
As we look ahead to what many anticipate will be the toughest winter on record for healthcare services, we stand ready to support you once more.
